Dear Teaching Faternity…
The teaching profession shapes human society across disciplines, levels, and eras, yet it has lacked a universal visual identity. Just as doctors use "Dr." and engineers use "Er.," the Teacher Symbol provides educators worldwide with a shared identity and recognition.
Derived from the cursive abbreviation "Tr", the symbol is drawn in a fluid, continuous line that connects several meaningful concepts:
Uplifting Partnership: The figures visualize a student leaning in respect while the teacher holds their hands to support and elevate them. The Emotional Mother: It portrays the teacher as an emotional nurturer caring for the student’s growth, akin to an unborn baby being nurtured in a conceptual womb. Symbolic Colors and Form: Framed within a circle representing the global community, it uses sky-blue for universality, yellow for the teacher's oozing knowledge, and white for the student's purity and openness to learn.
Easy to draw and adapt digitally, the Teacher Symbol transcends regional boundaries. It can be proudly displayed on ID cards, letterheads, nameplates, vehicles, and awards—giving educators a common visual identity and a reminder of their noble task.
